Zahid made his first-class debut for Hyderabad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2009-2010. Making his mark in the first innings and finishing 16 not out in the second. Zahid Mahmood suffered a nervous breakdown
Sources reports that, Zahid, upon learning that he would be alone in the plane, suffered a nervous breakdown during the training camp.
Pakistan Cricket Board picked to send Mahmood, who had originally been picked for Zimbabwe Tests. He was a replacement for Shadab Khan. In the contrary, he informed the board officials that he had never traveled abroad and could not go to Zimbabwe alone. Shadab was ruled out of the tour due to a toe injury sustained in the second ODI against South Africa on Sunday.
Finally, after the request of the spinner, the board has now decided to send him to Zimbabwe along with the Test squad. Zahid will leave for Harare on April 21 with the Test squad.
